gob #11

july 30, 2003 - the mission / toledo, oh

we didnt tell any of the guys in the band that we were coming out this time. gabe saw us waiting in line outside the club and was like "heeeey, i know you!" and he said it was cool that we came. we knew it was going to be alrite then, because we were scared that they were tired of us by now. we watched the opening bands while we stood around with tom and craig, which included diffuser, fallout boy, and lucky boy confusion. gob was actually headlining for once! we havent seen them headline since '99!

i went up front by myself because beth didnt want to get smashed up. finally got to hear some new ones, like "give up the grudge," "i cut myself, too" and "this evil world" among others. it was great but still not long enough of a set. i am hard to please. ha.

beth and i met a new friend, eileen from detroit. we hung out with her and tom after the show where tom once again showed us his one good arm hair and also told us about a place they drove by called "spuzzum" or something. thats probably a very wrong way to spell it, but i dont know how else to do it. we also met their new merch guy josh and he ruled. it makes it seem like they go through crew members so often but really they dont, we have just known them too long. ha.

everyone formed a caravan to go find a place to eat, but no one wanted to go to the same place and we ended up splitting up. tom, craig gabe and dinger went back to the hotel, while i went with beth, eileen, theo and josh to find food. nothing was open and we ended up having a picnic in a taco bell parking lot at 12am. it was really silly, and one of those moments that you want to remember forever because it seems so unreal. those boys have my heart!
