moondog coronation ball 2004
2004 lineup: sonny geraci (of the outsiders), gary lewis + the playboys, the turtles, felix cavaliere (of the rascals), and johnny rivers.
by our third moondog ball, we realized that nothing would ever compare to that first year we went. the lineup, combined with winning front row seats, was just waay too much to compete with! still, we dress up in our poodle skirts every year and have fun being silly. our favorite dj action jackson was broadcasting live and we got on the radio for the 3rd year in a row. funny.
sonny geraci still sounded very good. he is from cleveland. he was the singer of the outsiders, and later for climax. he was my boyfriend for this year. during "time won't let me" he sang "i...can't wait...for erin!" a partial setlist of the goods:
gary lewis and the playboys were next. gary lewis does NOT still sound good. to quote amy, "he sounds like he is making fun of himself!" his voice doesn't sound the same at all, and it cracks a lot. ew.
the turtles were great, as usual. they are very funny and i am a big fan of theirs. i wish their set wasn't so short! tristan was rocking out and we loved it.
felix was alrite but i thought he would be better so i was slightly disappointed. he was beth's boyfriend. we made him sing "gimme that good good love - BETH!" i think he forgot to play "how can i be sure" and it's not like they have that many hits in the first place. hmph.
so i don't love johnny rivers in the first place, and wasn't excited to see him headline the show. it was alrite. he was amy's boyfriend and he sang "welcome back amy...to the poor side of town!" they broke up soon after, because amy decided she wasn't impressed either.
overall grade for the nite: b+
